If you are talking about the family discount, in order to get a the "family" discount the employee has to fill out a form and sign it. Then they are issued a "number". They can only get so many per year. It is when you fill out that form and sign it, certifying the person is a eligible "family" member where the losing your job part comes in. I'm guessing most people would feel their isn't enough in it for them to be worth the risk.

You are right. There are some audits done to determine family qualifications.

Now if I shared the discount, and lost my job, I am share DelawareCamper would take me in since I am family. I am guessing he would also pay to send my daughters to college. All for $3500.
