They are in a tough spot in this class of truck. They could have thrown down the gauntlet and produced a 2500 or even 3500 series truck. They have all the pieces they need, the NV3500HD van has a GVWR of 9900 and a RGAWR of almost 7400, more than most SRW 3500 domestic trucks. But, they would have lost big time in the power specs, and there are no EPA fuel economy ratings in that class.
If they could just lighten the truck by 500 pounds to up the payload and lighten the price by $5K they could maybe have a winner.
