The Nissan XD Titan Cummins in the pics has the gooseneck option.
Question for those with experience towing gooseneck trailers. Is 1488 lbs. of payload enough to make this truck useful towing an "average" gooseneck trailer in the realworld? I think most would agree 1488 lbs. is not enough payload to safely handle the pin weight of the vast majority of 5th wheels.
I don't know if my two gooseneck trailers are "average" or not, but in my case, the Titan would be overloaded with the horse trailer for sure ( 8100 lbs empty, 14.5K gross ). It would be fine with my equipment trailer.....empty :).....but overloaded if the trailer had the bobcat on it, or let's say 150 bales of hay ( about 11K gross ).
I saw a Titan on the lot the other day here in Tucson and looked it over. Nicer looking in real life than the pictures I had seen of it. Nice color of dark blue. $55.7K sticker. It's not for me, but my bet is they will sell every one they can make. And yes, as others have said here, you'll see them soon with all sorts of fifth wheel campers on the back. I'm in a resort right now in AZ, and as usual, I see a lot of F150 EB's and Tundra's with fifth wheels.
