It will be interesting to see how these go over. I still think they needed to be about 10K cheaper than they are. If your buying a diesel pickup why would you pay this much when you can get a much stronger diesel for about the same money? I don't think you can compare it to the gas half tons as clearly as some would like to make it. I think see the gas and diesel trucks getting cross shopped that often.
Also consider that Nissan has almost zero presence in the fullsize truck market given their monthly sales numbers. There is not a pent up base of loyal customers like there are for other pickups. So largely these pickups are going to have to sell on their merits, not product loyalty. This means buyers will be comparing numbers, and this pickup doesn't deliver on any of them, not in MPG, Price, or Payload. Will they sell some? Sure they will, big splash? Not very likely.
