Lot of talk about the Titan XD having an over-engineered frame, engine (Cummins), tranny (Aisin), and differential. No argument there. However, very disappointed Nissan elected to use semi-floating axles---exactly the same design found on 1/2-ton trucks. All 3/4 ton trucks have full-floating axles. IMO, these semi-floating axles are the Titan XD's Achilles heal in terms of payload. Easy to rationalize this truck is a 3/4-ton truck in disguise, but the fact remains the payload ratings (and the semi-floating axles) say otherwise.
