My TT is 8000 lbs fully loaded and the XD is more than up to the task. If you can't get a good deal on the XD over a 3/4ton then no it's not worth it. I paid 13.5K under MSRP for my diesel XD which made it still 6-7k less than a 3/4 gasser. Market area can make the difference on what discounts you can get so yours might be different than mine.
