I was absolutely shocked when I heard Ford was discontinuing the E-450 V-10 cutaway chassis. They were such reliable workhorses and they pretty much had the Class C business exclusively to themselves.
The E450 is still being produced and there is no projected discontinuation. They have added the 6-speed TorqueShift and also now have the 6.2L v8 as the standard motor, but the V10 us optional and nets an extra 5,000 pounds towing capacity.
Glad to hear that. I always had a soft spot in my heart for the Econoline van . Drove many in the '70's...E 100, E 300 van and E 300 (srw) cube van. Favourite van I drove for many a mile was the late '70's E 350 DRW, with an insulated box and reefer unit. It had the 460 V8 (wonderful engine, lots of torque, durable) and an am radio. The radio may sound like a small deal, but it was great. No longer did I have to carry my old Mitsubishi transistor radio in the truck cab. I got the radio from Sears in the '60's.
Nice memories. - LessmoreExplorer II

many know in Canada for years the Canadian Plymouth dealers sold a Dodge truck under the name Fargo.

I remember them being built at the Warren Michigan Dodge truck plant in the early to latter 70's. Built for export as I recall. Many had huge balloon looking sand service tires
Quite right. Mopar also used the Fargo name for export vehicles (areas other than USA/Canada). I recall the old style military looking Dodge Power Wagon, among other truck models, was shipped overseas as a Fargo.
Canadian Plymouth dealers sold Fargo...Canadian Dodge dealers sold Dodge. Eventually Canadian Plymouth dealers just sold Dodge trucks/ Think this happened a few years after Canadian Mercury dealers (1968 model was their last year) stopped selling Mercury branded trucks and then sold Ford pickups. Marketing strategies from many years ago.
Don't know why, sure there was a good reason. :D - JarlaxleExplorer IIDo they offer it with gas power?
- Cummins12V98Explorer III"Goat you do know that Ram became a stand alone brand way back in 2009 right?"
Started the process then but legally they did not become RAM until the 2013 model year. My 11 and my Dad's 12 had "DODGE" moulded into the sunglass holder on the dash. Same place on my 15 has "RAM". - barnaclebillExplorer

Since you may also seem to be numerically challenged, I will inform you that I joined this site back in 2003. You know back when Ram was still under the Dodge brand. Again try and keep up son if you can! LOL

These Ford/Ram 550/5500 chassis are basically replacing the old Topkick/Kodiak 5500 chassis, which went under coaches over 32'. That chassis had a higher cab so it worked a little better for visibility in the coach and shorter overall length, but IMO didn't drive as well as the Ford and Ram options.
Interesting; that's great to hear they're still producing them! - carringbExplorer

In any case that Class C MH looks great. I actually saw a similar unit last year in our favorite RV park except it was an Adventurer on a F-550 crewcab 4x4 6.7L chassis. It looked really sharp as well.

That fact must have escaped you somehow. The large RAM on the tailgate didn't show up until 2016. Try to keep up bud.
