- 4x4ordExplorer III^^^ Wow doubling since 2014 is surprising. I paid 67,500 CAD for my 2016 Platinum and 91,000 CAD for my 2022 Platinum. … So 5% increase per year.

Looks like a loaded Denali DRW 2 wheel drive tops out over $100k.
I can officially claim "old guy" status...we paid less than that for our first house. 2000sft ranch on 1.5 acres about 15 miles from a midsize city in the midwest. Everything in good condition (aka: not a fixer upper).
Next truck will probably be one of those horrible 6 speed trucks when the current 5 speed gives out but hopefully that's another 4-5yrs.
Same here on the " Old Guy " I paid $39,700 for my first home newly built ,and if I would have bought shortly after I got married it would of been $21,500 :) Both 1800 sq ft .
Hard to believe that trucks have doubled in price since I bought my 2014 . - blt2skiModerator

Ave home price locally is literally x10 of truck price. Drove by a 12 plat home project, sign said from mid $1M range.

^^^ It’s not posted as fact anywhere as far as I know….. it’s just me thinking it’s pretty tough to compete in a 500 HP/10 speed market with 420 ponies and 6 gears.
"the 2023 Ram is apt to take a big hit in depreciation when the ‘24 comes out with 8 gears and 480 horsepower / 1200 lbft of torque."
You will lose credibility by making these type statements. If you would have said guessing, or if, in that remark, you wouldn't be providing false info.
Yes, you did clear that up, after being confronted.

OUCH!!! That even hurt me Jerry!!! :B
He is actually the one that said the 6 x 6 is just fine and would not make much difference with more gears.
As mentioned WHY in the HE!! change when you have combo's that do the job reliably.
I will repeat, I tow way more weight than most anyone here at 35k combined West Coast and have ZERO reason to want more gears or power. I have owned both trans and I love them both.
Harsh...not intended. Just a tip for a respected member, that many trust to be stating facts, when in this case it wasn't. Good that you asked him!
My opinion...I agree, with the Ram not NEEDING more than a stout 6-speed. I do think similar to others opinions, that since technology continues to advance for Ford/GM, at some point Ram will follow. Right/wrong, it will be considered upgrading the drivetrain and body/frame/styling.:)

I guess I need to be a little more careful with my words. The purpose of the post was actually to let people know that my decision to pass on the '23 Ram was not rooted so much in the Ram not meeting my needs, but rather in my "fear" of being stuck with an antiquated '23 model "if" a newly designed '24 model should come out. As much as I believe the high torque rise of the new HO Cummins means 6 gears are adequate. I do think Ford and GM have raised the expectations new HD truck buyers have, which means Ram will soon need to bring more power and more gears to the table. Cummins12V98 wrote:

Yes Fish, he had a trans on the floor. Worked fine!. But had an oil leak in gasket. Took in to fix before warranty went out. Mechanically, worked fine. Both of you are stretching the truth some. IMHO, both of you are also false in comment. Get over it.

The one you felt inclined to install a after market oil pan or the one on the shop floor? I'm confused... :B
The 68RFE
The almighty Aisin that doesn't break
You must have a catalog on everyone or just me???
Both were great as I have mentioned many times. Not sure what the big deal is about adding a deeper pan???? The point of the pic was at 65k with way over 50k on the AMZ/OIL ATF the pan was near spotless towing 30k combined most of the miles. ONLY reason I removed the pan was I traded the 11 on the 15 and sold the pan.
You also know the reason the AISIN was replaced it had NOTHING to do with the trans at all. It had minor weeping where the case meets so I had it repaired under warranty. The Tech is the GOD in the Valley when it comes to transmissions. He had only replaced two AISIN's under warranty up to then because of casting issues. He did the separation with the trans in place and the proper way was to remove and stand on TQ converter end. Obscure Technical Bulletin later showed this. NOT the fault of the transmission!!!
So I have to ask what was the point of you posting the pics????????? - TurnThePageExplorer
