The color of the cord does not determine marine or RV suitability. The black cords are made by Camco or some other manufacturer for RV use and they just happen to be black. The yellow cords are made by Marinco and they make both marine and RV varieties. They both have a twist lock connector on the boat/RV end. The RV version will have a standard 30A plug for he pedestal end. Hubbard also makes marine cables, and maybe RV cord but I havn't slooked for one. 30A cords are always going to be made of #10 copper wire. If you do happen to run across one with aluminum wire(unlikely) stay away from it. The use of aluminum wire has long been discontinued in the mobile home and housing industry because of the problems associated with trying to connect wiring of dissimilar metals.
