Hi Mike, please take it from me, get the 1 ton. The dealer ended up absorbing the costs of upgrading my 2500 GMC to hold that camper. I brought them the camper loaded with our "stuff" and it weighed in at 4000lbs.
They added sway bars, spring packs, new rims, new Nitto tires, etc....it was a HUGE headache for me and them. It took about 6 to 7 trips to get it "just right".
If I did it all over again, I would have gotten a lighter TC from Lance. I LOVE my 855s now, but what a pain in the *** it has been.
