The 3M comes out like a paste, so it doesn't run down the side, and you can let it sit up to 7 hours. That tough old silicone comes right off. Ace Hardware had to special order it, but it is worth it.
Wish I had known about this stuff 2 weeks ago. I persevered and slowly muscled the old caulking off. cheers
