Sep 14, 2018Highest I've ever been able to achieve was 19.6 last month on a pure highway tank. The speed was around 62-65 MPH and the terrain was a bit hilly. My truck is a DRW and I would think that a SRW could get just a little bit better. 22 MPG is up there, but it's probably possible with some careful driving.
I usually average around 17 mpg for mostly highway tanks. Heavy city tanks average around 13-14 mpg. Towing tanks with my 9k trailer depends on if I'm in a hurry. If I need to get there quick then it's a solid 8 MPG or slightly less. If I slow down to around 62 MPH then I can easily hit 10 MPG. All of my MPG is hand calculated via an app. I'm not one to fret over MPG, but I do like to keep an eye on how well or poor the truck is doing.
