Yes it will go 60 in 2nd at 5k rpm. Doesn't stay there long. 2nd gear is much higher ratio than first. Big jump between the two. Only mountain grades required 2nd if I pushed it to the floor - which I did. I was testing it out it was my first time towing in the mountains with it.
