IMO this is very sage advice. I seem to recall there is quite a few various models types which are somewhat year dependent and just as you have seen from the recall comment from someone with an 02 you should get your information from current owners of the specific year of your truck. My 01 is subject to the recall mentioned, but I won't get it done since I'm still running my original, I have a spare and an one of those if it isn't broke don't try and break it. I paid the ridiculously high price for the IH part back in around 02 whereas now the latest ones are very reasonable from what I understand. Some lasted forever, some failed within a year or two and there wasn't a real rhyme or reason for all the issues.
