Another good day in the restoration process, finished up the wall paneling.




I am leaving the areas that were curved in the front and back as you can see because I will have some additional bracing to do there. As I mentioned earlier about wrinkles in the plans, this is one of them. The original surface was a piece of foil coated paper and I thought I could duplicate that by kerfing the luan panels on the back side. An experiment trying that turned out that the veneer layers are too brittle. They will just crack into pieces if I go that route. I'll have to install some backing braces so that I can attach flat panels on an angle. No sweat but I thought I'd mention it.
