I'm thinking Liquid Nails and a brad nailer or narrow crown stapler. The adhesive will do the bulk of the holding and the brad or staple will be more of a positioning thing until the glue sets. I have had a lot of success with these construction adhesives. The work boxes in my truck (6 3/4' x 2' drawers) are going on ten years and thousands of in's and out's and are still holding strong. :D
