Great work! A true labor of love. Thanks for sharing, it is always fascinating...
Today, I'm trying to complete the vent hood cabinet. I am varnishing the end panels for the cabinet, using My new system, Highly Efficient Activation of Temperature, or HEAT, lol. After I've brushed on a coat of varnish the panels are stacked on the wood stove. This AM, I have three coats on the finished side and one on the interior. The panels are 1/4" fir plywood and should match the countertops closely.

Previously, I installed the vent hood, though-bolting it into the cabinet frame and the paneling underneath. I hooked up the battery and the fan and light work good and so does the vent fan in the rear that was left in the "on" position, all systems go, so far. I painted the interior of the cabinet to give it a little more finished aspect and to seal up the cabinet frame. I'm guessing that this area is going to be seeing some moisture from cooking.

The cabinet will probably get a door on the non-microwave side and I will get that one, along with all the others, when I have the remaining fixtures built.
