Since a previous owner had used some type of metallicized roof coating, I'm getting about 95% down to bright aluminum. The roof membrane is extruded like a golf ball but instead of round indents, they are diamond shaped. It's hard to get the last 5% out of those. The Roof Seal seemed to bond well and I'll keep an eye on it but do you see a problem with the residue I left?
Hey trust me I know all about tar on the roof! Mine wasn't horrible, but still a mess. I used one of those vibrating multi cutting tools with a scraper blade and a heat gun and it all came up pretty easy. Scrubbed it with a scotchbrite pad and mineral spirits and a final clean with simple green and was good to go. Lots of work though. Heard nothing but good about Eternabond, that should get you sealed up good! Can't risk leaks after all the work we've done.
Yeah, the last thing I want is another leak.:( I'm using the Eternabond to insure that when I pull the C/H across those secondary roads, the flexion of the roof and walls doesn't cause a leak. Hey, UP, just think of how rich we would both be if a sticks-and-bricks took a beating like our RV's!;)
