I got two trucks and no truck camper at the moment.
First one is a 2003 4x4 Chevy 2500hd, duramax, SRW, SWB, Super Springs, Ride Rite air bags 19.5 Vision rims and 14 ply tires. I had a big truck camper with slide on it. It handle it very well except I didnt like how heavy and tall it was. I never had it weighed but I was sitting at least a little over 4000 lbs and a little over 13 foot tall. Had a basement in it. I sold the camper in 2010. Not sure what I'm going to do with the truck yet.
Second truck I just bought for my business about three months ago. 2017 4x4 Ford F350, gas engine, LB, SRW, camper and snow plow package. I have no tiedowns or suspension upgrades. Plan is to do some light off road and put a Hallmark popup or a non basement North Star Igloo hardside camper on it.
I will not buy a hardside with a basement again. I don't like the 13 foot plus tall on a SRW and it limits you off road if you want to do a little light stuff.
