I just placed an order for an ArcticFox 990 Wet which should way about 3600 empty (shows a dry weight of 3010 without options that I'm told online weigh 564lbs making the camper 3574lbs total which is over my 'slide in camper' rating of 3370. I'm told this weighting assumes 6 passengers at 150lbs each which would make the camper + max passengers rating at 4270lbs but I could be totally wrong on that and wonder if anyone knows?
The GVRW is 11,500 if I read the above correctly with the rear weight slightly under 3000lbs with a max of 7000. Figuring the camper at 3600lbs without water, propane and batteries (I'm guessing here) would mean I'm at about 6600lbs. Add food, water and gear and that easily gets up to 7000lbs assuming the camper is 100% carried on the rear axle (I wonder how much of the weight is carried by the front).
I once weighed the truck at the garbage dump scales at 8240 with me in it (I'm 250lbs) including tailgate and tonnue cover. Figuring I lose about 80 lbs when I drop the tailgate and tonnue puts the truck right about 7910lbs leaving me 3590lbs. Assuming myself (250lbs) my wife (145lbs) and the above estimates on gear and camper etc (wet) and I'd be at about 11900lbs.
So over, for sure but how much of a worry I'm not sure.
I have Timbrens and am installing TorkLift Stable Loads and air bags. From what I've read the airbags won't do much but maybe help level the truck.
I have E rated tires that seem to say 3820lbs @ 80psi but they are hard to read and that might be 3620 (they are Cooper tires that were on the truck when I bought it)....so, assuming I don't replace those I think I'll be under their max but just barely (two tires at 3620 would be 7240 and 3820 is 7640).
I'm a little concerned because I haven't carried a load like this before (not in this truck though I've driven much bigger rigs in the military with heavy boxes on them).
