Air bag leak found now what

yes some common sense needs to be applied, but an airbag won't just come apart if you put a little air in it.
Bough mine used and pumped them up to like 20psi before I put em in to check for leaks.

Okay, here is what you need to do, 1st remove the fitting and inspect the treads on the fitting and into the bag if they look fine then move to step 2

2 Put some teflon tape on the fitting and a little pipe dope and retighten into the top of bag

3 Before reinstalling the air line cut about a 1/2 inch off and reinstall

4 Fill with air and check for a proper seal with your soap and water

FYI- To remove the air line you push the collar in thats around the plastic hose, hold it in and pull on the line away from the fitting

Take it out so you can see if it's the fitting or the bag. But if it's blowing bubbles all around where the soap is in the pic, probably need a new bag

Air up the bag and spray down w/a soapy solution.
Looks like bubbles around the perimiter between the bag and the bags top plate from where I sit.

This could be caused by a loose fitting where it screws into the bag as well, leaking air between the bag plate and the truck plate. I'd try for another turn on the fitting if possible, but don't force it to the point of breking off in the top plate or you will be up the creek so to speak.
Remove and inspect.

I don't care for the push to connect fittings, easy but leak prone. Use screw down fittings instead. Bags typically leak from corrosion around the top fitting due to road salt and moisture. Bag looks fine to me too.

Every airbag I have ever seen has NPT screwed in fittings for the pressure line. It looks to me like that is where it is leaking. Pull the hose out of the quick connect, unscrew the fitting from the bag, clean and reinstall. You can use pipe sealant or 5 - 6 wraps of teflon tape on the threads, don't put it together dry as it will leak. Hand tight and then an additional 2 turns or so with a wrench. If it is leaking from the poly hose connection, often a clean cut on the hose 1/2" back will fix it.

That bag looks fine to me.

On my Pac-brake airbags the fittings just screwed in at the top.

Look at step 3, has a pic and step 12 has a good pic of leaking fitting.

The end of the air line tubing must be cut square and clean to avoid burrs in the connection to the air fittings. The push-to-connect fittings require a square cut to properly seal. The tubing can be removed from the fitting by first releasing the air pressure from the air spring. Push the collar on the fitting toward the body of the fitting. While holding the collar in, pull out the tubing. Cut the tubing squarely and push the tubing into the fitting as far as possible."

How old is it?

I don't know how true this info is but I heard PacBrake brand air bags are the best.

The bag has had it - replace.
