will it hurt for the a/c to run for extended amount of time when its hot outside say 4 or 5 hours straight

We ran our AC on the Sunset Trail 250RB for 8 days straight non-stop while in Myrtle Beach the first week of June. We did that to stay ahead of the cooling.
