It's not a problem with the plate but the plastic piece that's part of the bumper.

The combination 4-way 7-way is integrated into the bumper cover, along with the license plate holder, so much plastic. I'll probably drill out the bottom holes for the license plate, it's just plastic so it'll never rust. If I get rid of the bags and hosing, I can stick some plastic plugs in the holes.

As said above ,no need to drill holes, they are already there in the license plate .Remove the license plate bolts insert the valve ,and put a nut on it, and cover with a plastic valve cap, couldn't be easier ,and acceable .

I don't understand why anyone would do otherwise, if not mistaken they come with a nut ,that you can attach them to the license plate thru the hole, and then put on a valve cap. Thats what I did if I ever had to inflate manually ,if the compressor failed .

I attached a drilled plate to the mounting screws holding the 7-pin connector.

Yea, IF I actually thought about it B-4 installing on my last truck... I would NOT have placed them there.. Not to mention I backed into a hard pack snow pile while plowing and wrecked my 1st one in that placement

I thought about putting my schrader valves below the bumper, but I didn't want to have to squat down to adjust the air pressure. So I put them where it's much easier to reach.

Back in the day, we used air shocks to give our hot rods a decent rake... :) Always put the lines thru the rear license plate holes. Well, except if you had your gas tank fill behind the fold down license plate! Then you just used a tab under the rear bumper, which they all seemed to have as well back then..
