Sales numbers don't translate to a better truck no matter which brand. I will say that in full size trucks Ford still has a slight lead. That gap has shrunk a lot though and to be fair Ford counts all F series trucks which includes the F 450. If you count 1500-3500 trucks the numbers change. Probably not a lot, but they would change. I own GM yet would have no problem purchasing the other two brands. I just happen to like GM. Although the one I have right now hasn't been one of my better vehicles. My 1998 has 375,000 miles on it though.
