I have an '08 F450, I've owned it for 3 years now and since this truck was new there has not been one single problem. I tuned and deleted, as most problems were related to emissions equipment. The fuel mileage picked up by 30% and power is up by, like lots, still not one single problem in 3 years since I did that upgrade. Fuel mileage: We have to remember these trucks weigh almost 10,000 lbs. so do you really expect to get honda fit type mileage??? (I own a Honda Fit and use it for none truck trips).Mantenance is the key to this engine,regular oil and fuel filter changes. I'm no expert and I am not "Brand loyal" just telling the truth. If I was to do it over again I, like other posters would buy something else, but if the truck is cheap enough it could still work out allright. My truck was $10,000 cheaper than the same year GMC 3500 so I figured if I get into a $10,000 repair I'm still not out any money. No problems with radiator or water pump so I must of got lucky on that one, or, not all of them were bad. JMHO.
