Kendall GT-1 and Castrol also have oil that meets Chrysler's Specs but for less money than Amzoil

It's clear some folks don't like Amsoil, but it is a fact that two product lines are API certified.

Fun...just checked to make sure it has not been passed by tungsten disulfide...

Lubricant

MoS2 with particle sizes in the range of 1–100 µm is a common dry lubricant.

Few alternatives exist that confer high lubricity and stability at up to 350 °C in oxidizing environments.

Sliding friction tests of MoS2 using a pin on disc tester at low loads (0.1–2 N) give friction coefficient values of <0.1.

MoS2 is often a component of blends and composites that require low friction. A variety of oils and greases are used, because they retain their lubricity even in cases of almost complete oil loss, thus finding a use in critical applications such as aircraft engines.

When added to plastics, MoS2 forms a composite with improved strength as well as reduced friction.

Polymers filled with MoS2 include nylon (with the trade name Nylatron), Teflon and Vespel. Self-lubricating composite coatings for high-temperature applications consist of molybdenum disulfide and titanium nitride, using chemical vapor deposition.

Examples of applications of MoS2-based lubricants include two-stroke engines (e.g., motorcycle engines), bicycle coaster brakes, automotive CV and universal joints, ski waxes, and even bullets.

Too new, IMHO, for a analysis to show much...unless you drive it VERY HARD...

Am not a fan of these tests on a regular basis...maybe if suspect something
amiss...like getting coolant in there or some such

Am OLD and lots of experience wit.h ICE lube/grease/etc...found that
*ALL* of the military contracts was assigned to design stuff for
while in college and after in my early life as a designer...spec'd
out MolyB. Researched and found the wonderful qualities...it is
now in most lube...but not enough, IMHO

Used Molybdenum Disulfide, 1.5 Micron Powder. Experimented with
Tungsten Disulfide powder, but going back to molyb...as the price
and particulate size has come down dramatically!!!!

Plates all metal parts inside any ICE...

Most larger displacement do NOT notice until tens of thousands of
miles later...but...small displacement will or might see it
in a few hundred miles. Mainly in the coolant temp. Now that IR
guns so affordable...set a datum before adding

Bought a $5 Oyster blender at Goodwill and use it to mix in MolyB
powder with Mobil 1. Just one quart and pour it in after 2 quarts
Mobil 1, then the other two quarts after

DO NOT use molyb in anything that has a clutch/friction material.
It will plate and friction goes out the window

Best engine oil filters are in the +3 micron range, so anything
smaller will pass through and plate the engine parts

Also use this in my guns, lawnmower, portable air compressor, stationary
air compressor, transfer case, etc...again...not in anything with
a friction material...to slippery and will ruin it

Not necessary for every oil change, but at least every third oil change

Here is where I get mine now...where it was expensive and specialized
before

PS...reminds me...my grease gun isn't working after loading it with
molyb rich grease...think the old cartridge left a bit of foil in there...
gotta fix or buy a new gun...

Be very careful, only SOME of their products are API certified. The rest use a sunburst that resembles the API seal and it says something like meets or exceeds API specifications. How do they know this without API testing??? The whole line is pure snake oil.

Page 3 shows a few pictures of the bottle...it indeed says API Certified.

The labs will tell the tale.

I highly doubt it's Chrysler "certified"

It may MEET Chrysler specifications. That is a distinct difference.

I won't touch an oil unless it's API certified. I did use another brand snake oil until I found out their API certification was falsified. I had 7,000 miles on the snake oil over one year and had blackstone test it. next year, 7,500 miles over the same frame with Mobile 1. Mobile 1 product actually tested slightly better. Snake oil salesman claimed that my engine was benefiting from his product changing the molecular structure. Yes, he actually made that claim.

Thanks for the feedback folks...and yes. I know that the oil color has zero to do with how well the motor is being protected.

Just for clarity sake..this Amsoil OE carries the Chrysler Certification needed for my van.

I am also anxious to see how the Lab results come back. It's going to be interesting for sure!! I am going to opt for the extra test that will show how the additives in the oil are holding up too.
