It's fruitless to keep engaging the naysayers on the Andersen. I don't know how one can evaluate a product one doesn't own but that doesn't seem to stop 'em.
When I'm researching a product I tend to look at what other owners of that product have to say. Those folks have way more credibility as they actually own and use the product. From what I've read, it's about 99% positives to 1% negative.
X2... When I went from TT to 5'er I bought the Andersen, as I already had a GN ball, I installed to haul goose neck trailers. It was easy to hook up... turn your head look out back window and line up.. even with looking over the aux fuel tank. Then when I went RV transporting, like the "naysayers" here I had to switch to a conventional "sliding" fifth wheel hitch. So bought a Curt GN/5'er hitch plate adapter and picked up a slider 5'er hitch. Holeeeeeeee Carp!! the noise, the chucking, the moaning, the groaning!! Transporting has died off, so I pulled the 5'er hitch the adapter plate and reinstalled the Andersen for the up and coming camping season. If I was pulling one of those ridonkulous 3/4 axel houses on wheels, then I would opt for a traditional 5'er hitch. But, since my "cabin" on wheels loaded is slightly above 1/2 of the rated capacity of the Andersen, I'll use it and not have to listen to the moaning, groaning, other noises and not have to deal with the chucking.
P.S. I'm still looking for dent/deflection in the bed floor from using both the Andersen and the Curt GN plate adapter. I put on over 60,000 miles this winter transporting RVs, 50/50 TT and 5'ers, with 5'er weights ranging from 8000+ to 13000lbs (M/T weight). If any of you experienced dents/deflection in the bed you installed your GN to hitches incorrectly.
