If you're ok with running 3k~ rpm on the flats and 4k+ on the uphills, you may be happy with it. It won't hurt the engine. But a migraine from cringe will completely ruin a vacation. After six diesels, my 5.4L Torqshift/3.73 F250 cruises along on the flats with no wind at 2k rpm in O/D at 65mph. The slightest incline or headwind will necessitate a downshift to direct to run 2700rpm. Anything over 3% will put it in 3rd at 3800-4200rpm. At 86k miles, it still runs and drives like the day I bought it. That's probably close to what you'd see with your heavier 5th wheel and the 6.0L GM. I like the hot rod sound of a V8 gasser in it's powerband. Others cringe and make themselves miserable.
