Any 2005 Fleetwood Valor/Americana owners?? Tire question.

Hi,
Couple of questions regarding the HEAVY Fleetwood Valor/Americana
Wondering if you have as much trouble finding tires (St185/80R13) with enough load rating that last?? Would love to know what works for you.
Second- is it possible to go to a 14" tire? If so what brand/ size was successful?
Third- any thoughts on Aluminum rims??
Thank you in advance for any information.

Signed
Frustrated and needing to get 'tired'- AGAIN.
  • I've recently bought three ST185/80R13 "D" rated tires & Rims (Galvanized) from e-trailer. With the order shipping was free.
They came out to about $117.00 per tire.

    Just the tire $87.00
    Tire and White Rims $112.00
  • How did the search for ST185/80 tires work out?

I'm a 2008 Jayco 17 HTT. OEM tires are ST185/80D13, inflated to 65 lbs. They are impossible to find in stock. The R13 version load rating is C, under 1,500 lbs. The R13 version is too weak to last and almost impossible to find on the road.

I'm looking at change to the commonly available ST205/75 14", though the Radial of that carries less weight than the OEM, it is a whole lot more than the ST185/80R13 carries. Both the 13" and 14" wheels have 5 lug patterns, so I'm hoping the change will be direct and I can measure the clearance before and after.
  • This place offers free shipping & the prices seem to be reasonable.
They have an 800 number as well.

I guess you could try an auto wrecking yard and look for a larger rim. Take one of your rims off and put a straight edge across the
back side and measure down to the lug holes to get the mounting depth. Bring the rim with you to measure the bolt spacing. I'm not familiar with Fleetwoods myself.
