- robsouthExplorer IISeems to me that it would take a long time of use to recover any difference in the cost of purchasing a DH and just using the A/C. Both have to be plugged in to shore power. The A/C will use electricity, but so will the DH. JMHO!
- MookieKatExplorerI meant that when the TT is not being used, the person put a DH in it to run constantly. I would think that that would draw less power? I don't know...
- robsouthExplorer IIYour camper most likely already has a very good dehumidifier in it. It is called the air conditioner.. If you can plug in a dehumidifier, you can run your air condition instead and just watch the collected humidity run off the roof and onto the ground without the extra expense of a dehumidifier.

Georgia has been especially wet this year its also been hot and humid. I have O leaks and yes we found mold just prior to going out this weekend spent hours looking for any leaks anywhere and found none. Should be camping more I guess
I read a post by someone who said that they had put a dehumidifier in the shower and had a tube running down the drain and it eliminated all mustiness. I think that is a great idea and we plan to do it when we buy ours, as we are in GA as well. - dadechilExplorerGeorgia has been especially wet this year its also been hot and humid. - ArticFox_676ExplorerA Biocide treatment will kill the mold (maybe two if conditions are bad) and take away the damp musty smell. Then we keep Damp Rid in the trailer at all times during storage. Change it when needed (more often in summer heat). Of course we do yearly carpet and sofa shampooing and don't have mold problems. In humid areas like FL you have to stay ahead of the problem.
- lgarciaExplorerIt has been really humid. Haven't camped since the 4th of July, tho kids/grandkids spent the night in it a couple of weeks ago.I have had a window open (the "escape" one by the bed that is at an angle when open), a box of dry rid, and a box fan running since they left.
Cleaned the TT tonight for the Labor Day trip and slight mold in the fridge and toilet. Sigh.
But, that just tells me I need to camp more. This will be our 3rd trip as it has been hard to get away - either time and no money, or money and no time issues. - MookieKatExplorerI like the dehumidifier idea, as we live in humid GA.

No. Off gassing kills the mold.
:B - love2rvcampExplorerWith the rainy summer we have had here in GA we have had some mold issues in our trailer this summer. It has not been used since summer 2012. We had mold on our chair bags and some of the sink. We do not have any water issues coming in just the high humidity here.
Last weekend I tool clorox and cleaned everything in the trailer and washed all the bedding and cleaned the carpets to get out the closed up damp smell. We put out some damp rid to absorb the moisture. We have used these in the past with great success don't know why we didn't put any in sooner.
But all taken care of now and smelling good.
