This kinda makes you wonder if there is still any point in continuing the horsepower wars. Maybe it is time to put more focus on reliability and fuel economy. It would be nice to back up the reliability claims with at least a 100,000 mile standard warranty.
All of the big three already have a standard 100k mile engine warranty on their diesel. As far as fuel economy, there are diesels available (and more coming) in the half tons that have the same power as the old diesels, but with much better fuel economy.
