You don't want to ask me. One of my previous trucks was a 6.0 liter Powerstroke. I got rid of it when I started feeling that I couldn't depend on it. You can't say that the newer diesels are more reliable than the pre-emissions diesels. I see and hear all kinds of horror stories about DEF problems and other emissions related problems for newer diesels. Once they sort that stuff out, I may look into getting another diesel. Until then, I'm staying away from them.
I believe that part of the diesel problem is that the powers that be don't want them out there. So they invent all kinds of near impossible emissions goals that they know will add frustration and costs to owning a diesel. They're trying to break you so that you'll give up on the power and economy. Well, maybe not economy any more. Don't know why diesel prices are about $1 more than regular.
