Arctic Fox vs Lance

As my wife and I shop for a 4 season TT, we are narrowing down our choices to the Arctic Fox 22G or the Lance 1985. Both units have similar floor plans. We have good dealers for both brands close by and my truck has plenty of capacity for either trailer. My questions come down to slide vs. no slide and build quality. At the risk of starting a "Ford vs. Chevy" debate, I welcome everyone's opinions, experiences, and biases.
Thanks!

A lighter, lower TT can be easier to tow long distance and less affected by wind.

But more problems with bottoming out if you do go off-road much.

Like the Lance quality, but really hate non-ducted air conditioning. Our last trailer was like that, our new trailer is ducted: major improvement in noise and comfort.

And they (Lance) are too cramped vertically for me with the low, flat roof.

But I would definitely want a slide in either trailer.
  • I am sure you have been in both of them. Sit in them for a while and think where all the stuff will go, TV location and quality of fit and finish. Then think of being in it for two days to wait out a storm. Look at the corners and edges for finish. A lighter, lower TT can be easier to tow long distance and less affected by wind.
  • looked at lance...bought. artic fox 22H....8.6 wide...shock absorbers, wider enter door
slide not necessary, just works for us, just enjoy what ever you choose
  • Go with the floorplan that suits your needs best whether it's a Lance, Artic Fox, or other reputable brand, many manufacturers offer extreme weather packages allowing four season usage. Having a slide for those rainy days will provide the added space needed so one doesn't feel so confined. Have fun in whatever TT you ultimately choose, and that your new rig delivers the type of service you expect from it.
  • Since quality is comparable and great on both, I would go with the Lance and the slide. It is amazing just how much that little extra bit of width will make in the enjoyment of the trailer. Beautiful interior.
