Aux fuel (diesel) tank with pump NOT in bed?

I found couple of aux tanks with a built-in pump that sits in the bed, but not under the truck. Does such setup exist?

Basically, I'm looking at a scenario where I can carry some extra fuel for both the truck and a diesel generator which is not on the truck, hence the necessity of having a pump.

Yes, this is a strange requirement... :)

contact these people at Areo Tank, I had a 40 gal. diesel tank installed by these people with a separate fuel pump.
  • Never seen one, but if you had an aftermarket lift pump, you could plumb a valve, tee, line and install an aux switch to use the lift pump as a fuel pump. Add an aftermarket tank with bigger capacity.
That's about the only way I can think of to do it. I've never see a second aux tank frame mounted, but you may be able to retrofit a tank from a cab n chassis truck in place of the spare tire. Again you'd be limited to a low volume lift pump type pump afaik.
Seems like a lot of trouble and $. A small diesel generator to power a TC will literally sip diesel. 5 gal will go a long way.
And there's about a zillion in-bed transfer tank setups, but I haven't ever seen one that would fit with a camper......
  • Let me see if I understand correctly. You want an auxiliary tank that will mount under your truck, and it should have a pump in it. Correct?
You should add your truck to your signature so we know what your driving. What truck do you have?
