Awining depth

Is the depth the same on all awnings or are they shallower for a TC?

My 5th wheel awning seems to extend a long ways, but I have the identical one that's going on the TC. 5th wheel has 2, 8' and 9' am going to use a 9', OK?
  • Thanks for the info. Used to the old Faulkner that you had to slide up and was always on an angle. The Dometic 9100 goes right out straight and you have to pull it down for a run off slope. Wife says so long as there's shade, she doesn't care how far it sticks out. Have only about $425 in it for a brand new assembly, so can't complain I guess.
  • I only have a back awning on ours and it is 6' long. As already stated lengths vary so use whatever size you want as long the parts will fit on your camper.
  • I agree there isn't a set amount they extend. I haven't measured mine that is in the back, but it seems better to block the sun from the back compared to sitting under.
  • I don't think there's a set value for how far they extend. Both my TC and 5th W currently extend to about 9', but my previous TC was only 4' on the rear and 7' on the side.

You can re-sew the canopy stop bead to make one any length you want.
