As stated above, 1/4" is way too far off for alignment.
Also, the axles are supposed to have camber (the bow in the axle). Even if the bow doesn't flatten out completely with a full load, it is still supposed to be there. A lot of the amount of flex is determined by the distance the spindle (hub face) is from the outside edge of the spring or the mount, depending on the type of axle. The more distance, the more leverage.
Definitely find a good big truck alignment shop. There has to be plenty of them in your area.
