The 4.8 would pull that trailer fine. At high rpm mind you. My son has an 06? 4.8 4ad with 342 gears. He's pulled 6-8000 lbs with it. With close to 300 ponies, it pulls. 4.10s would be a good swap out. He has a friend, identical the cab with 410s, gets better mileage, pulling power down low especially.
