badly worn driver side rear tire

Only one tire wearing on the inside?
Bent axle or very loose wheel bearing.
Does that tire appear to be leaning in at all more than the others?

Yes it appears to be leaning in more than the others.

Can you post a picture of the tire? Very interesting.

Not sure I know how to post a pic. I am not taking any chance and have called a local service person to come investigate before I drive 500 miles back home on Monday.

I would deal with it at home where you can check it out thoroughly. Take the tire to a shop and have them flip it so the worn side is on the outside. As long as it is not to bad and there is tread left this would get you home. If you have one you could also mount the spare as well. Once home you can then check the bearing carefully and if the axle is bent have a good shop align it.

The same thing happened to my last TT w/ Lippert 3500# axles. The camber on one wheel was way off and wearing the inside of the tire.
I took the trailer to a shop specializing in truck and RV alignment. They were able to straighten the axle on their frame machine and bring it back in spec.

Have a friend with the same issue, he is currently investigating as well. Unsure of axle rating but probably in the 3500# range as well.

The tech that came out thinks this is the issue. bearings are fine and I should be able to get home without issue. Not sure I can find a similar shop back home but will report back once I have resolution.

I had the very same problem with the drivers rear. I put a 4' level against the tires on the passenger side and both were in line, then I did the same on the drivers side. The back tire that was wearing on the inside was 1/2" out of line with the front pointing out. I ordered a new axle last Friday for it. I did check the bearing first and they (inner and outer were good). Had to order a new axle from Dexter with the EZ-Lube spindles. My axles are 6,000# axles and I haven't figured out how it happened yet.

THe tire should be replaced because if it's worn excessively, it's a ticking time-bomb waiting to blow.
