You haven't indicated whether these are 6 volt or 12 volt jugs but if the former I'd buy 2 new ones. If however these are 12 volt I'd be inclined to buy just one and install a Blue Sea m-Series 6007 battery disconnect switch which would allow you to run each 12 volt battery separately and avoid any chance that the older battery would detrimentally affect the new one.
