I agree that the weaker battery might bring down the new stronger battery. To solve that, using the 'Blue Sea' switch is a good idea to isolate the two batteries.
My question is , would it be an advantage to also use a volt meter to monitor the amp usage, so the volts don't drop below the wet cell 40-50% mark ? That way , the OP would know when to switch them.
Correct me if I'm wrong, if the batteries are both AGM, then they can drop to about 20-25% ?
