Best add on mirrors 2014 Ram?

The mirrors are an easy swap as long as the old have the same options (fold, heat, signals etc) as the new replacements. They should be plug and play. If you want power folding but did not have it before or are swapping pre '12 into '13 newer, then it is much more invovled.

There are some OEM style aftermarket ones that many people are pleased with. Check Ebay for example.

According to my dealer, the '14 and newer ram trucks can not simply change mirrors. The entire door mirror switch and lock assembly, mirror wiring harness etc must be changed.. After that the computer must be reflashed to accept the new mirrors. It was over $1200 in parts alone. The driver side mirror supposedly has the temperature sender for the computer in it.
In the end I kept the mirrors the factory put on.

Thanks for the replies. Parts guy at dealer told me the mirrors would not be easy to swap out - not plug and play. Not a big deal to me. The non tow mirrors look nicer and power fold.

But back to my question are the ones that look like the expensive molar ones but are cheaper as good?

My biggest disappointment with my new Ram is the fact that it has the tow package, integrated controller and all, but NO tow mirrors. How stupid. The dealer wants $800 EACH plus install (which I'll do myself) which is ridiculous.

I've been looking for tow mirrors for mine for months without any luck. Watching Ebay, Amazon and locally. Even have ads out to trade my non tow plus cash and still nothing.

There aren't many '13 and newer trucks in the wrecking yards, even fewer with tow mirrors. The few that are demand $350each and up. 2013 and newer models now have the temp sensor in the drivers mirror so the '09-'12 years, although the same design, won't work which limits me as well.

I've been searching aftermarket too. Most concerns seem to be about vibration. So far I'm leaning towards ones from 1AAuto. The few reviews seem good and only $425.

If your mirrors are heated, or powered controlled you will have to remove the door panel. the first one took me about 30 minutes, the 2nd one less than 20.

You might also check with Geno's garage, they sell the manual adjustable, non heated tow mirrors for about $100 new each side.

That's what I did too back in the day.
Same OEM parts at half the price and they're good quality, no vibrations and all the electrical stuff worked just as it did with the non-tow mirrors.

Yeah, can't beat the factory tow mirrors for the Sport - I have a crew cab with 76" bed (not the TT TV tho). Anyway, wanted to caution you that there are a couple different versions of the same looking mirror (e.g., w/ and w/o puddle lights of convenience package). Had to have one of mine swapped after dealer tech accidentally wacked it the overhead door jamb and they R&R'ed it under my watch in all of 10 minutes.

About 30 minutes per side if I remember correctly. Should not even have to remove the door panels. All of the screws are behind the small panel near the top.
