Back in the day they rated tires by ply and the to go tire for 3/4 ton pickups was the 750/16 6-ply tire.Once in a while you saw the 8 ply and rarely the 10 ply.Now the 6 ply is a C rated/the 8 ply a D rated and the 10 ply a E rated and they used to recap them. How things have changed!
In answer to your question, the big name brands over the years have done nothing special for me compared to the less expensive like Cooper and I would not spend the extra for the name unless they gave me more bang for the buck, and they have not in the past...But that is just me.
I run Cooper 215-85-16's on my 1994 Ford F-350 DWR with a Lance 9.6 foot camper. They are lower rated in capacity than some for an E tire but exceed my axle capacities with ease.No need for a higher capacity tire unless I went with a super heavy camper exceeding all the truck numbers. If I was to do that,I would get a Class C instead and have way more room.I went back to a truck camper to get back in places I could not with a Class C or trailer/fifth wheel.
