IMO, ditch the 20+ year old 16" wheels for some new takeoff wheels of the 18-20" variety and run whatever tires they have on them. Cheap easy and more options for heavy tires.
Problem with that is, you have to recalibrate the speedo and it changes your final drive ratio, often times adversely.
I run E rated 10 ply's on my '97 with 16" rims no issue. Ran them with the Lance (all over the country) and now with the pop up. Never even get warm. 80 out back, 60 in the front.
I do run 35's however.
