I don't dig the cap less fuel fillers either, but the reality is, in the vast majority of conditions, there is no need for a supplemental fuel cap on these vehicles, but some extremes, like fine blowing snow, can pack a cap less fuel neck plumb full of snow.
Happened regularly to those that lost their chintzy factory dust cap on my job in AK.
Personal vehicle, I'd buy an aftermarket cap for it too.
