Socket for 2016 CTD front fuel filter cap

From what I've read, it seems like more are using the 1-1/8" over the 28mm. Both seem to work fine.

I think most people would happen to have a 6 point socket in standard rather than metric. I have both but keep the 1 1/8" in my trucks toolbox.

When I changed the original filter at the engine the housing cap was so tight I was certain something was going to break. I used a much more reasonable torque when tightening it so hopefully it will not be so nasty the next time.

Make sure the socket is a 6 point 28MM and not a 12 point. Slow steady pressure on the wrench finally gets the cap turning.

Yeah, everything I've read points to the cap being on super tight from the factory, same with the oil filter.

Good deal! Get some tubing to extend your drain hoses, makes the job cleaner and easier.

Yep, saw that youtube too! Hose for front and back filters.
