Brake dust......ugh!

Ceramic pads: quieter, create less dust, lose effectiveness in extreme cold
Semi-metallic: noisier, tougher on rotors, create a lot of dust
Semi-metallic is still best for towing but ceramic pads have narrowed the gap considerably. It doesn't matter which type you have if you drive like a moron.

IMHO Ceramics are for cars and Semi Metallic are for trucks and SUV's.

Wax your wheels and then wax them again. When you get done, wax them a couple more times. My 2005 can be sprayed of with a garden hose and be spotless. The trick I have is I have a touchless car wash that I ran it through weekly sometimes twice a week. It does nothing but spray high pressure water to wash the truck. I always did the undersplash with hot wax and regular wax. Dirt and mud does not stick to it at all now. I can literally wash it off with a garden hose spray.

Go with ceramic pads. I have had them for over 50k miles most of that towing my TT. No dust and it stops great. Also the rotors are still good, but will need to be replaced at the next brake job.

Ceramic pads tend to eat rotors faster however.

EBC green stuff pads seem to be wearing well, have as good or better than OE stopping power and best of all, waaaay less brake dust.
I'm a fan of ceramic pads since I put them on the car and the truck a couple years ago.
Exhaust brake probably reduced my brake dust while towing in the mtns by like half.
The ceraimic based pads reduce brake dust overall by considerably more than half.

I'd be looking into my trailer brakes to see if they're working properly. I rarely have any dust to amount to a concern after towing. I did have a more than normal from my last trip. It was 1650 miles and full of sharp slow turns and mtn passes. On a normal 100-400 trip I have virtually none.
Seems to me that your truck brakes are taking the brunt of the tow.
Do you have dust under normal driving?

I don't notice brake dust on my Tahoe or the two before it. Nor any other GM truck, SUV etc. But I'm a weekly "washer."

Brake dust: God's way of telling us to stay the heck off the brake pedal!

Use your EB you won't have any.
