Brake magnet size
My trailer is in winter storage and i am trying to determine the size of my brake magnet. Its a 2012 kz spree escape, single axle...3500 # gvwr, would they be 7, 10, or 12 inch..thanks for any help

And the trailer will not be recognized until the proper resistance is seen.
I had the very same problem, with a unit I just bought. I had a broken wire to the LH magnet.
I pulled all the quick connecters and soldered, and Heat shrinked, all the joints.
Also look at Eastern Marine for brake parts.
Newer brake controllers don't look for resistance.
Instead they "ping" the brake wire with a "pulse", then check the time and size of the returned pulse.
The return pulse is generated by the inductance of the coils, it is called back EMF.
If return pulse does not make the time window and or is not large enough to register, the controller determines no connection.
A simple resistor does not have enough magnetic inductance to return a pulse, therefore adding a resistor to the mix most likely is not going to make the controller work.
Since OP has only two magnets it only takes one very badly corroded connection or a broken wire on one magnet to cause the controller to not recognize any brakes.
