Building a Ford F-150-HD payload?

I've been on the Ford website a couple times to build the F-150 that I'd be interested in but I can't seem to find any choice for payload or GVWR? Maybe I'm missing it? Anyone else notice this? I've checked the HD towing but I don't think that increases payload.

  • You may already be aware of the problem some owners had with the F150HD 3000+ lb advertized payloads and adding all 3000 lb in the bed of the F150HD overload the trucks 4800 RAWR.

The 4800 RAWR is good for up to maybe 2400-2500 lbs in the bed depending on the trucks actual scaled axle weights.
Probably one reason Ford dropped the old 8200 GVWR numbers back to 7850 GVWR.

One F150 owner came up with a 6800 GVWR and small 3800 RAWR with max tow package...so choose the bigger GVWR packages with the bigger 4550-4800 RAWR numbers.
    Good luck
  • It's available with the longest wheelbase, so either 8' bed super cab or 6.5' bed crew cab.

More important, XL or XLT trim only.
  • I just checked and was able to select it. I am not sure what configuration you are looking for, but I believe the HD package only comes with the long bed.
