I much prefer manuel jacks. Less to go wroung, good exercise, lighter, no extra battery power needed, much more reliable. I am somewhat of a minimalist. I still mow my own lawn and clear my own snow sometimes with a shovel. I removed my roof top A/C. I tend to like to keep my money in my pocket. I like to stay active. I am not afraid of a little extra work. At 55 I still do my own framing when I build a structure. If you get to the campsite and you cant wait to hook up the satalite dish and crack a beer you may want electric jacks. If you get there and you cant wait to go on a hike, or wade that trout stream. or kayak the white water, you should do fine with manuel.
I agree, but then I don't take my camper off the truck bed once it is on it. I actually take the manual jacks off of the camper, which in my case takes about 5 minutes. When I leave home, there are no jacks on the camper. I have the old screw style jacks and they are strong, but simple. It is just the way I like it. There are no motors to worry about, no wires to deal with, no remote controls to lose, and no issues since 1969.
If a person doesn't have the physical ability to use the manual jacks, or they take the camper on and off the truck every time they use it, they may want to consider the electric jack but for me they would be a waste of money.
