Mine leaked like that and I tried several ways to stop it and still have a functional sliding window. Nothing worked, so I bought a piece of clear plexiglass and cut it the same size as the frame around the sliding section. Stuck it to the frame with some 3M double sided foam tape.
No mo leaks.
